when there’s a launch, there’s an after-party! with models, celebrities, media, schmoozers, and ofcourse the star d’event; Matthew Williamson.

MK and Daria came out to show their support, and i was disappointed with what both of them were wearing. Lily Donaldson looked the best – and she got crowded out in the group shots!  i mean given the spirit of the event, Daria stuck to the script, but MK.. something was off.. i can’t put my finger on it.. maybe it’s the bag? the outfit? make-up? overall? i don’t know and it’s bloody bugging me.. your thoughts?

totally un-related to fashion – but i thought i’d share this with you anyways, because laughter is the best medication – and i was taught to share the laughter and help spread the joy in our lives!

my beau and i are truly ones who love to laugh and share the laughter.

yesterday was movie-night and we watched stand-up performance of Katt Williams – and might i concur that he is one bloody (not literally ofcourse), funny comedian! we watched 3 of his shows in a row! (2006, 2007, and 2008) and it was just refreshing. he didn’t repeat his jokes like your typical stand-ups would do. and his message about being intuitive with your ’star-self’ was such a positive message to his audience.

so i just wanted to say, thank you Kat Williams, for bringing some ‘ha-ha’s to our lives yesterday! that bloody song ‘hustling, hustling everyday hustling’ is stuck in my head!

i like her hairstyle in these pictures! still messy but the side part and the clothes make it cool.

so i was on my way to work this morning, and it is absolutely beautiful outside – the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and breeze is warm and light – so rather than my usual underground journey to work – i decided to get off a stop earlier and walk-in to work – while humming the sex & the city tune in my head – i was strutting down the Finanacial district (i almost got into a rythm of things, if i could i would’ve started swinging my arms! but it’s always so crowded with grumpy, disgruntled people in suits – so i was barely containing myself from doing so, and i realized my strut became a dud when i noticed my left leg wasn’t moving! my Louboutin heel stuck between the cement crack – nooooooo!!!!!

these are my working – office ‘appropriate’ Louboutins – and the heel had already snapped! – noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

people turned to see what the big fuss was about – and this one kind hearted gentlemen said “i can only imagine what you are going through right now – my wife loves those CL’s and she would be devastated if that ever happened to her” and hails me a cab and throws a $20 to the driver for me!!! truly a gentlemen! i couldn’t say anything because i was in tears and in awe because i was literally 50 steps away from my office building (but i couldn’t say that).. so when I got in, I just asked the driver to drop me off the corner and to keep the change.

R.I.P. my dear Louboutin – you will be missed by your partner Ferragamo belt and your dear mum Gucci Britt bag, and the family DVF dresses.. so sad

p.s. thank you to the kind gentlemen who helped me this morning and for making my loss less painful – you are an angel in Canali made-to-measure  disguise!

so i have been slacking on posts, my perfectly good excuse is because i am in that awkward transitioning mode and “in talks” for a new layout look for yvetteyeau.com – and until it’s been finalized and set to action – i feel like i cannot do anything! i am a bloody perfectionist – therefor cannot just leave things be.. so clearly this weekend was just absolute procrascitination – as my beau and i spent most of saturday and sunday on the drawing board.

but i did however manage to squeeze in two movies: ‘i love you man’ and ‘obsessed’ – and lets just say ‘i love you man’ turned out to be wayyyy funnier than expected and – ‘obsessed’ well, lets just leave it at that. there was just nothing else for us to watch.

p.s. Jason Segal – who is also from ‘forgetting Sarah Marshall’ is hilarious! – and cute Paul Rudd is always a delight!

i just thought we do not give enough credit, where credit is due.. while Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld are the leading ladies in the Fashion realm – i also wanted to commemorate a Canadian face, legend, icon for Fashion Television – Jeanne Beker

while i had both the honor and pleasure to meet with Jeanne Beker a few years back while out and about shopping, i had the opportunity to converse with her for the split 95 seconds – i got to ask her a question, which was “how does one succeed in this industry, such as an icon as yourself?” and her response was that of a veteran, “be passionate and learn to inspire as much as be inspired – be prepared to learn something everyday.”

Jeanne Beker is truly one of the most iconic and influential women in the fashion industry both in Canada and around the globe, she was so nice and delightful.

in case you guys missed it, Thursday night Chanel hosted their annual dinner party for the Tribeca Film Festival at the old time downtown haunt Odeon.
its an odd mix of crowd where one is to spot Danielle Steel accompanied by her daughters Victoria and Vanessa Traina as dates.

Adrien Brody, Viola Davis, Matthew Modine, Diane Kruger, Alexis Bledel, Debra Messing, Moby, Bradley Cooper, Poppy Delevingne, Amanda Brooks and Angela Lindvall hobnobbed during cocktails, while in an unlikely pairing, Mary-Kate Olsen and Robert De Niro had a lengthy tête a tête.

“Is it really dorky that I’m so excited to see De Niro in person?” asked Julia Restoin Roitfeld as she eyed the actor – no m’dear it’s actually quite cute – i don’t think i’ve ever seen you blush!

in keeping with the night’s theme, each guest received a hefty cocktail tome of a different artist’s work.
it was an amazing night & event to be remembered by all.. xo
