BIO
Yvette Yeau launched in 2008 and has been running as one of North America’s inspiring fashion lifestyle blogs – YVETTEYEAU.COM
“Yvette is a globe trekking professional by day and an aspiring designer, writer, blogger by night.”
Who are we kidding?! This writing in third person business is just annoying! and so impersonal! – and I barely managed to complete my sentence! lol I was trying to feed ideas of how other “bloggers” have spruced up their “About Me” profiles.. so pardon my brief impersonal moment and let me try this again, shall we?
Professionally I specialize in Talent Management; focusing on Career & Succession Planning for the Leaders of Tomorrow at an International Company, hence the globe-trekking part, and my job has taken me from the most remote locations one human being could possibly imagine, to the most exotic parts of the world.
All the while prior to my own career change from the retail industry (and I call it this because the fashion industry in Toronto was close to non-existing during my moving-adjustment era to which it has now become a cosmo city – which I proudly call home now). Hence the career movement, I worked for two major North American Department Stores; as a menswear buyer for one, and negotiating national marketing licenses for another.
But it was my calling to try something different, and I love my day job, and I truly believe in taking every opportunity and making the most out of it, and if you do, you will be rewarded in one way or another. So carpe dieme!
There is something about energy, dynamics, astrology and cosmology that always fascinated me and I like to believe that water signs truly have that “psychic ability” (so this means the Scorpios, Cancer and Pisces) than others. It is kind of like some people are born with a more sharper sense of style (it’s just in you, you just know), it’s like the saying “either you have it or you don’t” and while I can’t concur if it’s completely innate or not, I like to believe it is. Some might argue that it is creativity that drives this “intuitive fashion sense” (I call it), and that too can also be true, because everyone has a different perspective on things.. but what I was originally trying to get at, is that, I have the intuitive ability as well. Naturally. ;)
And fashion was always the other half of me. While I might not work in the industry professionally, the other part of my life lives and breathes it twenty-four-seven. I am probably like you 99.97% of the time, but my brain is the human archive of designs, catalogue of collections and blueprints of malls and cities. It’s the Scorpio in me, when I believe, I BELIEVE and give it everything I got. I think I scare those closest to me just alittle..
So on my free time I aspire to freelance design, write, blog about arts, fashion, history, philosophy, music, literature, travel, love, and just life. And if you have the slightest remote interest in any of what I just mentioned, you will appreciate me and my hard work.
Starting this blog (like most of you) will come to the realization that it is not just about the free gifts and collaborations you get to do; and some might see it as a contest or a race of some sort; but the most amazing part of this whole blogosphere world to me is the journey itself and the outreach ability it is capable of – just think about it, the next time you analyze the potential your site has in reaching the rest of the world! The possibilities become endless! I admit it is exciting and alittle terrifying (but in the good way which is beyond words for me) – which can only mean really good, because trust me, I am wordy. Until today I am still baffled by how randomly people have recognized me on the streets from my site. But the most rewarding part is when they tell me how much they enjoy hearing what I have to say. You cannot quantify that.
I hope that you enjoy my site and designs as much as I do! For me, unequivocally it is my passion for all things great in life. This site is dedicated to just that. For those lovers of great art, photography, fashion, writing and reading. Lets inspire one another!
Oh – and did I mention I would like to design? something….. eventually…. and that I love to hear your thoughts and love giving out advice! Be it your career, travel, love, life, styling, etc., and that I may even want to pursue on being a career advisor and onto a life coach at one point in my life? there are just so many things i want to do. there are so many things i want to buy! my list is borderline from looking like the US Amendment ew, I think I just threw up alittle in my mouth.. obviously I could not think of a better analogy.. lol.. I wonder what the longest list of anything in the world is??.. I will be googling that just as soon as I am done writing here..
And you will soon discover just how much Scorpio I AM = limited bullshit tolerator and no ifs and buts about it.
Thanks for reading!
