in light of such festivities, there were some designers who made some amazing designs in honour of the year of the dragon! i am celebrating it with passion since my baby bro is one of the dragon babies! and i am wishing him a successful year with great accomplishments and by making every moment count!

now lets look at some of the goodies that designers have crafted in light of the theme.. shall we?

Versace did a limited edition bag, appropriately named Year of the Dragon 2012. designed with traditional drawings in an auspicious gold shade, the bag resonates the sentiment of royalty, something that the symbol of the dragon represents in Chinese culture.

Coach teamed with Chinese artist Zhang Lan (known for his Chinese tattoo and street arts) this collection comprises of a messenger bag, passport cover, travel wallet and organizer. The golden dragon rendered depicts of a traditional Chinese ink painting.

Here is one for the fashionable techies.. Microsoft unveiled this beauty to commemorate the Chinese year. The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Artist Edition Year of the Dragon is an intriguing mix of cultural art and computer gear, in a limited edition of course. Microsoft teamed with up-and-coming artist Lin Xu Pan who has interpreted a classic Chinese dragon through a paper-cut style imprinted on the Arc Touch palm rest. This five-claw crouching dragon, symbolizing nobleness, was traditionally reserved for royal use.

Nike releases four sneakers dedicated to the ‘year of the dragon.’ The four sneakers for this year are the Air Force 1 Low Supreme, Air Jordan 2012, Nike Kobe VII System and Nike Zoom KD IV-and the Nike Destroyer Jacket. The dragon has been aesthetically incorporated with an urban touch.

Vertu also launched three exclusive cell phones to commemorate the Year of the Dragon. Vertu Signature Dragon collection is offered in yellow gold with diamonds, stainless steel with emeralds and black stainless steel with rubies. The highlight of this collection is the ‘four-clawed dragon motif which was an emblem exclusively reserved for Chinese noblemen and senior officials’. The top of the line, yellow gold model is decked with 18ct yellow gold while the navigation button is set with a 0.33ct princess cut white diamond. At the rear, the dragon’s eyes blaze with two white diamonds. This dragon has already travelled to Switzerland to be honored with the 725 stamp in the Assay Office before settling on this Vertu. My guess for the price? easily above 25k.. anyone want to play price is right with me? ;)

just a random thought… even if one was a billionaire trillionaire.. would one carry this? it’s like holding a bar of gold in your hand and just flashing everyone that you have something worth 1/2 M in your hand.. jussayin!
